Welcome to our Community

Community Montessori welcomes all members of our community to join in a partnership of children, families, educators, and community members to engage in a joyful love of learning.

Our master’s prepared and credentialed Montessori teachers serve ages 3-14 in an inviting, child-centered environment. Our goal is to educate the whole child, spiritually, academically, and physically through authentic Montessori classrooms and by using our community resources for enrichment. Our children will be seen in the community learning and engaging in service projects.

We look forward to meeting your children and families and welcoming you to Community Montessori.

Enrollment Process

Step 1 – Parent/Guardian Observations

We ask all interested families to set up a time to meet with the Head of School and observe in the classroom. This gives us an opportunity to answer your questions and gives you an opportunity to see if our environment is right for your child.

Step 2 – Child Observation/Interview

We will schedule a time for your child to shadow in the classroom and work with the teacher. We ask that you drop your child off at 9:00 and pick him/her/them up at 10:30. If you are enrolling a 3 or 4-year-old, we will set up a meeting with the teacher to meet your child one on one in lieu of a shadow morning.

Step 3 – Parent/Guardian Meeting with a Teacher

The teachers will share with you the current curriculum and details about the classroom after your child visits. The decision will be made if this is a good fit for your child and our school.

Our enrollment process  ends on August 1 for  the upcoming school year. In a Montessori classroom, it is essential that we have a good community of students in order for all children to have an authentic Montessori experience.  To be sure, we want to allow families enough time to visit our school, meet with the teacher and all  agree that our school  is a good fit for your child.

Policies and Procedures

All students entering the pre-primary program must turn 3 years old before August 1, be completely potty trained and able to dress independently. Children are not permitted to wear diapers or pull-ups while at school.

Procedure

It is important to Community Montessori that our school is a good fit for your child.

Interested families should schedule a time to observe in our classrooms. We will then schedule a time for your child to shadow during the morning work cycle. If the faculty and families decide that our school is a good fit, we will schedule an appointment to meet with the Head of School to discuss the enrollment process. We look forward to showing you our school, sharing information, and getting to know you better during this process.

Waiting List

If there is not a current opening for a new student, then the child will be added to our waiting list. It is important to us to try and balance our classrooms by age, gender and equity. Priority is given to siblings of children already enrolled, staff children, and then our local community. Discounts on tuition are not offered to siblings, however, all families may apply for financial assistance, as it is our mission to offer our education option to all children.
